Goodreads Review — Trickster Drift by Eden Robinson

Sequel to Son of a Trickster. Jared’s coming-of-age journey continues, now in Vancouver and with a focus on holding tight to his sobriety while doing his best to refuse the supernatural side of the world that he stumbled into at the end of the first book. As with book one, the writing was great and the portrayal of life in unstable circumstances was compassionate and skilful. I most appreciated how not just the feel of the writing but the very rhythm of the story was different from the first book in ways that reflected Jared’s changed circumstances. Maybe slightly less gripping than the first one, but only slightly – again, a really good book, and I can’t wait for the third.
