Three weeks before the deadline that I set at the beginning of the year, and five weeks after my most optimistic interim guess at when I might actually be able to finish it, I have a complete done-enough-for-now draft of Chapter 4 of my main current book project. Yay! Won’t be able to start Chapter 5 right away, as I need to jump back into an earlier chapter to plug a couple of holes and then I need to do some big-picture strategizing about the overall shape of the second half (give or take) of the book, which has thus far been much vaguer in my mind. But I feel optimistic that my New Years goal of getting done Chapter 5 by the end of 2019 is achievable. Also yay!
